There basically two types of solar dehydrating

  1. A solar dryer where the product is exposed to direct sunlight
  2. A solar dryer where the product is never exposed to sunlight
When products are exposed to sunlight it can negatively influence the nutritional value, a loss of colour  and flavour as well as a range of hygene and contamination possibilities.

The Sungenius mobile Mini Solar Dehydrator never exposes your product to direct sunlight.

It offers you a solar only and a solar electrical option for additional convenience

How does it work?

  • The transparent door is always positioned away from the sun.

  • The sun-facing side features a transparent cover on the top and back of the dryer, allowing sunlight to pass through and heat a matte black aluminum sheet. This sheet efficiently transfers heat directly into the oven.

  • The design includes a cavity between the transparent lid and the black aluminum sheet, where air is heated and drawn into the oven, circulated by a high-volume electric fan. This dual-action heating system captures nearly 100% of the available solar thermal energy, eliminating the need for insulation or additional heat collectors.

  • As a result, the dehydrator remains compact and mobile, making it suitable for use both indoors and outdoors.

  • The temperature in the oven will never rise above 60 degrees C

Take your rusks outside, free up your kitchen and let the sun dry it for free

This groundbreaking innovation
revolutionizes traditional drying methods

Leverages your rusks or sun-dried products as a powerful marketing edge, setting your product apart from the competition. The rich, naturally intensified flavour and unique solar-drying process will make your brand stand out, capturing customer attention and adding an exclusive touch to your offerings.

  • The mini solar dryer will dry your rusks, fruit, veggies and herbs at almost no cost
  • Four drying racks included 550 x 450mm
  • There is no solar panel as the oven dries your food directly from solar thermal energy. The heat directly from the sun
  • The air circulation is generated by a high volume 220v extractor fan
  • Drying box dimensions: 600 x 500 x 500mm
  • Insect repellent
  • Wheels make solar tracking easy
  • Transparent collector top and back as well as the door are covered with unbreakable, UV protected poly carbonate sheet
  • The drying oven will increase the ambient temperature by 20 to 25°C
  • If the ambient temperature is 35°C the temperature in the oven will be 50 to 60°C
  • The temperature can be manipulated by manipulating the oven towards or away from the sun
  • Interesting fact about drying foodstuffs: The volume of the air replacement inside the dryer has a much bigger effect on drying foodstuffs than the temperature of the air.
  • We dry our rusks during the night as well without adding any heat, as the low temperature enhance the taste or texture of the end product. You do not need a high temperature to dry rusks.

These ovens are all hand made, with less than 5% imported materials

Choose any of the two mini solar drying ovens

  •  Solar Only: R3300.00 PLUS high volume electrical fan and 4 rusk drying racks
  • Solar/Electrical: R3800.00 with a 400w electrical element a high volume electrical fan plus 4 rusk drying racks

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The Mini Solar Dryer is primarily a solar dryer and not an electrical appliance like your oven in the house. The drying process must therefore not be compared to the drying process in your electrical or gas oven, although it can be highly impressive.

The Mini Solar Dryer dries from solar thermal energy and the drying time will change from season to season, day and night and even during the day. The electrical element has no thermostat and developed to simulate the solar thermal drying as well as to be used with solar PV systems. Energy saving remains the main goal and should be kept in mind at all times.

The mini solar dryer is a smaller replica of our walk in commercial solar rusk dryer.

Its duel action drying capacity is highly impressive as we can dry up to 250kg rusks in a day in a 3 x 2 x 2 cube from the sun only.
